Our Youth Ed Ministry will engage in an activity with a local children’s agency to bring awareness to the act of abuse to children. Our Youth Education Director will be running in the “Stop the Silence” 10K held in Washington DC. She urges any who want to join in the 10K run or maybe the 5K Fun Run/Walk or even the Kids Fun Run to contact www.stopcsa.org/race. Come on out and help us speak out against child abuse. We always need teachers, volunteers and anyone with a special talent or interest to participate in our summer program. Won’t you share your time and talents with us. For more information, contact Jeannie Dillingham This year, two of the four Y.O.U. leadership positions are filled by our own Becky Brown, Eastern Region Officer of Spirituality, and Gabby Crane-Flatt, Eastern Region Officer of Communication. Both young ladies have worked closely with Jane Harden, Head Sponsor Y.O.U. in preparing the program and will help facilitate the weekend, Spring Rally will be held April 25th— 27th. The theme of the upcoming Rally is “Me, Myself, and I Am.” In addition to the leadership responsibilities of Gabby and Becky, we are proudly graduating seven of our Y.O.U. at the Saturday night ceremony. The circle of life and love continues for our Y.O.U. program as three of our Y.O.U. underclassmen are running for regional office. We are so blessed by our high school group, these Youth of Unity, and commend our past, present, and future Regional Leaders for their willingness and ability to serve. Rev. Roger will miss the church service that weekend because he is coming along to Rally in tribute to our powerful Y.O.U.ers and for the experience of fun, peace, and unconditional love that hallmarks this spiritual growth weekend. UCC Y.O.U will be conducting Sunday Service for Mother’s Day, May 11th. The title of the service will be “One with the Heart of the Mother.” Look forward to an uplifting perspective and talents of our Y.O.U. shining through. Thank you for supporting us though the various fundraising events of the past year. Coming up, the Y.O.U. will be providing deserts and refreshments for the Spring Cabaret. Bring your sweet tooth along as we share the joy of our church community talent. Bring your dirty cars for a Car Wash on Sunday, May 18th and the Y.O.U. will clean them up! Funds we raise are used to help pay for attending the Regional Rallies and the International Conferences. MANNA FOOD BANK HARVEST The Y.O.U. participated in the Eastern Region Y.O.U. Youth of Unity (YOU) is a spiritual group for High School aged teens (14-18) who come together every week to discover who they are as spiritual beings. Walk into a place where negative judgment, criticism and peer pressure are left outside - where teens are free to express who they are and who they want to be. Our experience includes a weekly service with many of the spiritual lessons given by the teens. YOUs are adult guided, youth directed. If you are a teen at heart, this is the place for you!
