Unity Ministries

Prayer Team

Prayer does not change God, but it changes him who prays.”    Soren Kierkegaard
Those of us who have been drawn to Unity are usually very much in touch with our personal connection to God. We have come to believe that we have a unique relationship with spirit, and derive great comfort, strength and inspiration from spending time in prayer. If you would like to strengthen that connection, I urge you to consider joining our Prayer Team.

Unlike many other ministries at UCC, the Prayer Team requires a primarily solitary participation.  You are asked only to commit to daily prayer.  You will be given names of people and situations, usually from church members, to hold in prayer during your daily prayer time.

If this sounds like something that interests you, I would encourage you to go within, and decide if you feel called to serve in this way. It is a very private way to serve, but a very powerful one. Both for the people you are praying for, and for you who are praying.

The prayer team meets with the rest of the Pastoral Care Ministry, on the first Monday of every month at 7:00pm.  Every quarter we create a prayer service for the church community, and we have a few activities throughout the year.  None of which are “mandatory”.

Please let me know if you would like to be with us.

Sincerely,
Gwenn Olive
Director of Pastoral Care
