Winter 2009A Message from the Minister |
Dear Friends,
As I look back over the last 12 months, I reflect on the many positive accomplishments our ministry has been involved in. We began the year with a new Unity program, the Choice, and ended the year with A New Earth: Awakening to Your Life’s Purpose. We celebrated 25 years of Unity Christ Church with Homecoming Sunday; special weekends with Unity leaders Rev. James Trapp and Rev. Lynne Brown; and an anniversary dinner dance and thanksgiving weekend with Rev. Allen Quay. Many thanks to all who made this a wonderful year and to all who supported this ministry through its first 25 years of expression. Your gifts and contributions have provided a solid foundation to grow our spiritual community into its next 25 years of “teaching the truth and empowering personal transformation by extending love to all.” As this year comes to an end, it is clear that the structures and organizational frameworks that many have taken for granted are changing rapidly. Financial institutions are going under; words are spoken in reference to the great depression; and investment and retirement portfolios have shrunk to levels unbelievable even a few months ago. Bailouts for major sectors of the marketplace are being argued, layoffs are increasing, foreclosures are at all time highs, and credit is difficult to obtain even for the most credit worthy. At such times it is often difficult to see the good, challenging to sort out what to do, and hard to keep the high watch of Truth. Even so, we know that God is the only true Source of our supply. We know that the words we speak and images we form create and shape the world we live in. We know that we live, move and have our being in a field of divine substance and as children of God nothing can keep us from our good. I believe this is a transformational time—an opportunity for us to raise our consciousness and move forward with purpose. The New Year is always a time of refocus and new beginnings. Goals are established, resolutions are adopted, and intentions are set in motion. Let us commit to an experience in 2009 based on fully living in accordance with these truth principles. Let us remember no matter what the outer appearances or challenges we may encounter that God is the Source of all our good and “the best is yet to come.” May the holiness of this wondrous winter season bless us in all ways. With love and peace, |
